Penelope Jennings

Hi! My name is Penelope and I am a sports reporting intern at The Seattle Times. I recently graduated from American University with my Bachelor of Arts in journalism and history. I formerly interned at the Investigative Reporting Workshop, and covered high school sports for the Washington Post. I served as Sports Managing Editor at The Eagle, American University's student-run newspaper, where I wrote and edited college sports stories for four years. The summer of 2025 I interned at The Echoes-Sentinel of New Jersey Hills Media in northern NJ where I covered local news in the towns of Long Hill, Warren and Watchung. During the summer of 2024, I interned with CNN Sports where I worked on Olympics coverage and wrote for the TV programs CNN World Sport and TNT Sports Tonight. When I'm not writing, I love to crochet and spend time with my cats.
